WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD
THE PAST WEEK
Last Tuesday’s meeting on Chantry Hill was quite well attended for an outdoor event. Fortunately it turned out to be a fine evening and with a slight breeze, it wasn’t too hot. Several stations were setup, with various antennas on several bands and Ed, M0MNG reported some VHF/UHF DX with contacts in Milton Keynes and Southampton, amongst others.
Chris, M0VUE had a small problem with RF getting back into his IC7100 on 80 metres, but fortunately he’d brought a spare choke, which was easily connected and acted as a braid breaker, which cured that issue.
Thanks to Roger, G7VBR for providing tea, coffee and cake to keep our inner persons going.
Congratulations to one of our newer members, Andy who now sports his new callsign M7AJW and is now working towards his Intermediate licence.

Last week’s meeting just goes to prove that there is activity on 2 metres and 70cms. A couple of our members put out calls on the FM calling channels and received quick replies. It’s also well worth using SSB on the appropriate calling frequencies, even if beacons can’t be heard.
